Australian Alternative Variety Wine Show

The first AAVWS was held in Mildura in 2001. This year, despite border closures and travel restrictions, it was decided the show must go on and was hosted via Facebook in an online event. Ashley has been chair of the AAVWS for six years and says, “The massive impact the AAVWS has had on wine production and consumption in Australia over the last 15 years is now flowing overseas as alternative varieties breathe new life into the UK market and add colour and excitement to the Australian offering.”
